We have all been there. You wake up one morning and there is a huge, red, painful zit forming on your face. Tomorrow is a special event and you are in a panic to make the pimple disappear, but everything you do seems to make it worse. The first step you need to force yourself to take is to not squeeze it. Doing so will agitate the area and could cause a very noticeable blood scab and even, eventually, a scar. Instead, try out one of these 10 methods to get rid of a pimple overnight.

1. Fresh Basil Leaf

If you are fortunate enough to be able to grow fresh basil in your garden, try this easy trick to get rid of your pimple fast. Pick a fresh basil leave and crush it with your fingers. Spread the crushed leaf onto the pimple so that its juice coats your zit. Do this throughout the day and at night before going to bed. Basil is anti-inflammatory and has antibacterial properties.

2. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is a well-known treatment for pimples. You can buy tea tree oil soap and washes for your face and you can use tea tree oil to unblock pores. To use, you need to dilute the tea tree oil first. Use a dropper to measure out one drop tea tree oil and nine drops of water. Mix. Use a cotton ball to soak up the formula and dab the liquid onto your problem areas.

3. Fresh Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is a common ingredient in many homemade face mask and face scrub recipes for people with acne. The vitamin C in lemon juice helps dry up pimples. To allow it to work its magic, you will need to use fresh lemon juice and not bottled juice or lemonade. Dab the fresh lemon juice onto your pimple or pimples throughout the day and before going to bed at night.

4. Green Tea

Green tea can easily be used to treat acne on your face and can also help with back acne (bacne). To make the green tea solution, bring 1/2 cup of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add a green tea teabag. Let the leaves steep for five minutes. Carefully remove the tea bag, squeeze, and recycle. Allow the concentrated tea to cool and store it for up to three days, covered, in the refrigerator. To us, wet a cotton ball with the tea and dab it onto your face. It will reduce inflammation and is antibacterial.

5. Baking Soda

I have used this remedy multiple times with great results. Baking soda is great for your skin. It not only absorbs excess oil, but it is also antibacterial and anti-fungal. It can also stimulate the growth of new skin cells. To use, simply put a small amount of baking soda in the palm of your hand. Add a few drops of water to make a paste, and apply the paste to your pimples. Leave the paste on for 30 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

6. Manuka Honey

I must now admit that I am on the manuka honey bandwagon. There is no honey as delicious or as healthy for you, in my opinion, and I have taken to eating it every day. Sadly, the good manuka honey with a UMF rating is expensive, but it is worth every penny. To use on a pimple, simply put a dab on the affected area and leave it on. Rinse it off a few hours later, if you like, and apply another dab. Continue until the pimple is gone.

7. Ice Dabbing

Dabbing ice onto the pimple can help reduce swelling and redness. The process is simple. Wet a washcloth with cold water and wrap an ice cube in it. Use this to dab the ice cube onto the pimple. Hold the wrapped ice on the spot for a few seconds, and then remove for a few seconds. Repeating this over and over again will tighten your pores and increase blood circulation to the area.

8. Cornstarch

There is always that lonely box of cornstarch sitting in the cabinet. You bought it for something, used it a few times, and now there it sits, all lonely and useless. But if you have a red, ugly pimple looking to be eradicated, you can finally put it to good use. Simply put a small amount of cornstarch into the palm of your hand and add a few drops of water to make a paste. Apply the paste to your pimple and leave it on for as long as you wish. It will slowly rub off, and you can rinse your face with warm water and apply another dab of cornstarch if you wish.

9. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a powerful solution to pimples, but you have to handle it carefully, because it is acidic. Apple cider vinegar is antibacterial and anti-fungal. Like lemon juice, it can quickly clear up a zit. Simply dip the end of a cotton swab into the vinegar and dab the vinegar onto the pimples. The smell is potent, but it will go away as the vinegar evaporates.

10. Aloe Vera

If you have an aloe vera plant growing in your home, you are in luck. Aloe vera is anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. Using it as a pimple remedy is easy. Simply break off an aloe vera leaf from your plant and dab it onto acne spots throughout the day. Apply it at night before going to sleep, as well.

I've never heard of some of these remedies, but definitely going to give a few of them a try. Using baking soda seems quite easy and it's something I already have on hand. I'm curious how well it works. Another natural remedy that works great is witch hazel.
