Susan Holland

Hi everyone! Welcome to my page. I am the last of eight children - the "Oops, she is a menopause baby." I have been married for 37 years to a great guy who is now retired from his full-time career as an Army National Guard Engineer officer. We have two great, adult kids. Our son, who also works full-time for the Army National Guard, has a criminology degree and is married to a beautiful girl and they have two sweet boys - and I love being a Gram - and our daughter, who has her business management degree and is married to a fantastic guy. I am a retired high school English teacher, who no sells real estate in the Southwest Missour area.

I love to write and share my life, and I encourage others to do the same.

Until a few years ago, I was used to taking care of house and kids alone for most of my marriage. Being a military wife brings on a whole different way of marriage than I expected - some good, some not so good. It has been an interesting road, and I am extremely proud of my husband's service and all our armed forces and their work and sacrifice.

I love to travel and I love to stay home. New York City, Cancun, London, Scotland, and Eureka Springs, AR, are my favorite places to visit. Mainly I am a homebody, though.

I take comfort in and draw from my Christian faith. I believe in loving others, forgiving, and second chances - all things I have needed in my life and will probably need again.

Family and friends are most important in my life. Also important to me are our two mini-Dachshunds that are spoiled beyond belief - so much so that if I believed in reincarnation, I would want to be a dog in a home just like mine.
