A former jewelry designer and bookseller, I spent many years working as a library and administrative paraprofessional. I am now a happily married parent who writes at home. My hobbies include making treenware (wooden spoons and the like), knitting, leatherwork, cooking, and tackling personal health problems.

I have a B.A. in sociology from the University of Chicago and have done graduate coursework in anthropology.
